Set sail with Diamond Jack’s in 2015
In Diamond Jack’s 25th season, loyal passengers will see that a nautical excursion with Diamond Jack’s is the best way to see the beautiful views of Detroit and Windsor that can only be unveiled from aboard one of our three vessels. Passengers boarding from Bishop Park in Wyandotte and the Detroit dock at Rivard Plaza will feast their eyes on such landmarks as the storied Manoogian Mansion, Belle Isle and its aquarium, Downtown Windsor and they will even sail under the Ambassador Bridge. Accompanying all tours are Diamond Jack’s knowledgeable docents, who will provide spot-on narration and anecdotes while passengers see why Detroit city is the place to be for summer 2015.
Diamond Jack’s is also a proud participant in the 2015 River Days festival, which celebrates the Detroit riverfront from June 19-June 21 (there will be no sailing on Thursday June 18) with live music, delicious food, jet ski tours, and special 1-hour $10 tours from Diamond Jack’s. Our 1-hour tours from Rivard Plaza will run from 1-7 p.m. Regular 2-hour tours will sail as usual from our Wyandotte dock, except for Sunday, June 21. No Groupons and no Reservations as its Father’s Day.
A Detroit tradition for 25 years
When Captain Bill Hoey launched Diamond Jack’s River Tours in 1991, few put their trust behind the idea of touring the Detroit River. But Mr. Hoey was determined to share his adoration for the Great Lakes by offering a family-oriented and affordable way to enjoy the River during the summer. Sadly, Mr. Hoey passed away in December of 2013, but his spirit is still very much present as Diamond Jack’s begins its tours once again, running Thursdays-Sundays. In this, the legacy of Captain Bill Hoey continues with each trip on the Detroit River.

Diamond Jack’s River Tours can now guarantee general admission for our guests. Beginning this season, tickets can now be conveniently purchased at our website www.DiamondJack.com. The online ticketing provides security for prospective guests to plan their trip. There will still be plenty of tickets available at the dock for “walk-up” purchase a half-hour before every tour. We still offer private charters too; this option can be booked through our office.
The narrated sightseeing tours depart from Rivard Plaza and Bishop Park, two times per day, Thursdays through Sundays during the summer. Please purchase tickets at the dock. Boarding begins approximately 20 minutes prior to the departure time. Some cruises do sell out, so you are encouraged to arrive early.

Though still early in the season, passengers have already celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and special Father’s Day parties aboard one of their three vessels.
In Diamond Jack’s 24th season, loyal passengers have seen they can still rely on the tours for beautiful views that can only be unveiled from the water. Passengers disembarking from Bishop Park have passed giant Great Lakes freighters, marinas and scattered islands, and had exclusive views of the Canadian shoreline and wetlands. Departing from the Detroit Dock, tourists have feasted their eyes on views including the Manoogian Mansion, Belle Isle, Downtown Windsor and even sailed under the Ambassador Bridge. Accompanying all tours are Diamond Jack’s knowledgeable docents, who provided spot-on narration and anecdotes while affording passengers warm sun rays paired with cool breezes.
